Management

Operating management of the Partnership is led by Gord Poeter. Gord is an experienced businessperson, operating private businesses primarily in the remote site accommodations sector for over 20 years. He also has experience operating a division of a public company, after selling his private business to the public company. In addition, Gord has been an active real estate investor in a number of markets. He has been assisting in the development of the Partnership since the inception of the Partnership.

Board of Directors

The current Board of Directors of the Company consists of Terry Freeman, Barry L. James, Craig Benfield, Ron Holdinga, and Gord Poeter.

The Directors are investors in the Partnership. Directors with the necessary skill sets have been appointed to achieve the goals of the Partnership.

The Board

Terry Freeman is Head of Investments for ATB Capital, the private equity arm of ATB Financial, making minority equity investments in Alberta based companies. In the past he served as Managing Director of Northern Plains Capital, and spent 15 years as Chief Financial Officer of Flint Energy Services Ltd. and its predecessors, where he managed the financial and administrative operations of the company including investor and banking relations, risk management, mergers and acquisitions and various other executive responsibilities and its growth from 20 million to over 2 billion dollars in revenues. He currently sits on the boards of a number of public and private construction, energy services, private equity and real estate ventures. Terry graduated from the University of Alberta in 1982 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Barry James is the Chief Corporate Development Officer at Lloyd Sadd Insurance where he is responsible for developing strategic and corporate initiatives, managing client relationships and assisting with innovative business opportunities. Barry was previously Managing Partner of the Edmonton office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, a position he held for ten years. He spent almost 37 years at PwC. Barry received a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) degree from the University of Alberta in 1980, qualified as a CA in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants in 2007. Barry is or has been a member of public, crown corporation, not for profit and private company boards.

Craig Benfield, until he retired in 2015 was Corporate Account Manager for Brandt Tractor, a corporation with twenty-one branches operating from Manitoba through British Columbia. Brandt Tractor is primarily engaged in the sales and service of heavy industrial John Deere equipment. Craig has over 30 years experience in sales and management for Brandt. Craig earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, taught high school and worked in the industrial finance industry prior to his career in heavy equipment. Over the years, he has received numerous awards and recognition for his accomplishments. Craig's knowledge of the western Canadian economy and the various communities in which the properties are located is very beneficial to Tread mark.

Ron Holdinga has over 40 years experience as an entrepreneur in Alberta. His career has consisted of establishing, purchasing an running several small businesses. He started Runners Express in 1980 and expanded the company to 40 trucks before selling his interest in 1986. In 1989 Ron purchased Cratex Industries in Edmonton. Over the next 24 years he grew the business to include 165 employees in Edmonton and Calgary. Manitoulin Global would purchase Cratex in 2013. In 1993 Ron also purchased Wilkening Transport and grew the company from 20 pieces of equipment to over 100, eventually selling the business in 1997 to Kindersley Transport. Ron joined the Treadmark Board in October 2018. His commercial real-estate experience consists of leasing, owning and selling the premises related to the businesses he owned. Ron now spends his time managingthe assets of RJRH Holdings.
